Clash Detection

SVM Associates experts in design, detailed and drafting services offer Clash Detection services through building information modeling to help in speeding up projects to identify clashes among several models at a time of designing stage. It is a technique of identifying if, where, how any of the parts of the building obstruct with another. Mainly clash detection is required in plumbing and walls part of designing time.

There are 3 types of clashes:

• Hard Clash
• Soft Clash
• Workflow Clash

Hard clash happens when two or more modules are engaging the same space or it’s interloping with each other.

Soft clash reveals that an object has not given appropriate geometric acceptances in the designing phase. For example, I forgot to keep space for maintenance work like AC, duct area cleanup etc…

Workflow clash is not an object clash, but in BIM a work-flow clash results from unpredictable or inconsistent building information. For example, an HVAC maintenance schedule does not align with the delivery parts schedule.
